What’s Trending {Wedding Day Headpieces}

I love that my job allows me to combine two of my greatest passions: weddings & fashion! I am constantly looking at what the next fashion trend is going to be, and even like pushing the envelope a bit with some daring fashion choices. Same goes for the wedding fashion world! I love looking at unique and “different” ideas for dresses, hair styles, and accessories. Right now, I am absolutely loving the boho chic floral head pieces. I think it is so much fun and brings a whimsicle element to your wedding day. Depending on the color scheme and design of your wedding you can choose subtle ivory flowers or bold bright yellow or red flowers. Either choice is a beautiful addition to your wedding attire. Check out the headbands in the collage, which one is YOUR favorite?!

Money Saving {Budget Planning Sheet}

Hey all my budget bandits, coupon queens,  and super savers! I know wedding planning can be a little overwhelming and get expensive at times, but I do not want you to get discouraged. A wedding on a budget IS possible and I will do my best to show you how.  Having a plan will be one of the top things that will save you not only money but TIME. I like to call it a BUDGET PLANNING SHEET. This sheet will keep you organized and let you know how much is due and when. Also ensuring you do not miss any payment deadlines. Missing Deadlines can void a contract and you do not want to be stuck without a DJ 2 months before the wedding. Trying to find a new one will be close to impossible and paying for a DJ twice would be even worse. So remember, once you start booking your vendors, get your Budget Planning Sheet together and everything will flow a lot more smoothly.

**TIP: put an alert on your phone when a payment is due, just in case you don’t happen to look at your Budget Planning Sheet everyday, especially as the wedding day gets closer and you have a lot on your mind

Wedding Planner Weds {The Final Week}

One week…7 days…168 hours…until I say “I do”. It still seems so surreal…until I start thinking about the little last minute details I still have to do…To all my brides-to-be out there, don’t stress when that final week comes, yes there are probably going to be last minute details to take care of, but my biggest advice to you would be “take a deep breath and don’t stress”. Everything will get done, and your wedding day WILL be one of the best days of your life. When I start feeling overwhelmed I make myself take a minute to think about the actual day, and I see my stress start to be replaced by excitement. I am so over the top excited to marry my best friend in front of all of our family and friends! I can’t wait to get my hair and make up done and relax with my girls the hours before the ceremony. And more than anything I cannot WAIT to walk down the aisle towards my future husband and start the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.

Ok, but on the planning side here is what is on my last minute to do list. I have my final dress fitting on Thursday, I have to create and print out the seating chart (now that all RSVP’s are in and the final headcount has been given to the venue and caterer), and I have some items I need to purchase. Other than those, I am done! I guess the next time I will be blogging I will be a married woman! I’ll let you all know how the wedding went 😉

DIY {Flower Crowns}

Flower crowns are a huge trend right now, and they are also so easy, you can do them yourself!  I love them so much, I made one for my daughter just for fun.  I wanted it to last so we went to Michael’s and bought fake flowers.  I wanted to keep the colors simple so I went with soft coral flowers for a pop of color and then filled it in with white and greens.  Besides the flowers, the only other supplies you need are wire cutters and green wire and then the fun begins!  I just started piecing the flowers together and when you get a section to look the way you like, you just wrap the wire around it and it stays in place.  Keep placing and wrapping the whole way around and then you have a beautiful flower crown that won’t die.  There are so many different kinds you can make and many different way, but this way was very quick, easy, and beautiful!

Hot Honeymoons {Excellence Resorts in Cancun, the Riviera May}

Excellence Resorts in Cancun, the Riviera May

I picked this location because I went on my honeymoon here and it was fabulous. The suite was amazing, the food was delicious and I loved the pool. I was able to lounge and and relax with my new hubby. They also helped us arrange other activities such as snorkeling and visiting the ruins. If you are interested in honeymooning in Cancun this is my pick. I can’t wait to go back.

What’s Trending {Flower Girl Dresses}

A lot of times brides get so wrapped up in their wedding day attire (dress, shoes, accessories, garters, jewlery) that they overlook their mini version that walks down the aisle right before them: the flower girl! There are so many adorable and fun options nowadays for flower girls, why not bring a unique element into your wedding! Instead of the traditional white chiffon poofy dress, why not make it more personal? If you are having a rustic outdoor wedding, you could incorporate cowgirl boots. One trend I am seeing a lot is tutu’s, which I think is SO cute! And how much fun would the little girl have running around in it?! Whatever you choose, have fun with it!

The Wedding Planner Weds {Tieing Up Loose Ends}

Update!! So the days are dwindling…28 days to be exact. Last weekend Mark and I picked out my wedding band to go with my engagement ring {beautiful!} and did our final walkthrough at The Old Sugar Mill and did our wine tasting selection {yum!}. This is the time of the wedding planning process where I’m getting excited and anxious…and where a lot of deposits and final payments are due. One tip I would suggest is to make a budget sheet first thing in the wedding planning process. I made an excel sheet with all of my vendors, their contact information, amount, when each payment is due, and how much is left over. I am a very visual person and need to see everything laid out. The next big things coming up for me are getting my dress fitted, picking out accessories, hair & make up trial, seating chart, and grabbing any last minute items needed.
