Eric & Elise

The perfect little {beautiful} backyard wedding. Eric and Elise’s wedding reception was held at Elise’s parents residence in their perfectly landscaped backyard.  Tall trees towering over the patio and bright green grass with lights strung all around. Everything about Eric and Elise’s wedding was so personal and special. From the homemade pie bar (over 20 to be more precise) to the homemade jam wedding favors, it was just perfect. There was so much warmth and love on this special day, you could tell everyone was there to celebrate the union of these two newlyweds.

A Winter Wonderland Treat

The Alluring Events and Design time love doing styled shoots. It is a chance for us to come up with an entire theme completely on our own and bring it to life. After some thought we knew we had to do something that we felt passionately about: The Holidays!
The inspiration for our Rustic Winter shoot really did come from the heart. We love the style and look of rustic décor and are absolutely in love with the holidays. The holidays are such a magical time of the year. From the treats and music to family and friends, it has such a warm and comforting feel. We wanted to capture that feeling by combining yummy winter treats and the great outdoors. And of course any winter set up would not be complete without a nice warm fire and a hot chocolate station!

Our amazing vendors that helped make this winter wonderland come to life are: Bloomers Floral Design, Simple Country Weddings & Vintage Decor Rentals, Kim J Martin Photography, Enchanted Bridal, Avio Vineyards, Invitations Ink, and Kayci Stoots

2014 Colors are in!

I know we are in the dead of Winter…it’s freezing and Christmas lights surround us, but Spring really is just around the corner! And for all you spring brides, this blog is for you! The 2014 Pantone colors of the year are a mixture of light pastels and bold colors. The below color palette gives a great range of variety for brides.

My favorite color combination from the Pantone 2014 colors is the Placid Blue, Paloma, Sand, and pops of Dazzling Blue. To me, it has a very relaxing beach-y feel. I envision a barefoot beach wedding surrounded by candles, driftwood, sand, light linens, and pops of blue in the floral design.

For all of our Spring brides, what are YOUR wedding colors?!

Vendors We Love {Bloomers Floral Design}

We always like to show a little love to the amazing vendors that we work with. Without them, we couldn’t do what we do. This week we would like to give a major shout out to Kim from Bloomers Floral Design. First off, let us just say Kim is an absolute sweetheart. She is so kind and easy to work with; it doesn’t even feel like we are working! We are always smiling and laughing when Kim is around. Her awesome personality is right in line with her awesome skills. Her floral designs are always gorgeous and always spot on. She is so great at sitting down with a client and really listening to what they are envisioning and bringing that dream into a reality. She has done numerous events with us and NEVER disappoints.

Throwback Thursday #TBT

In honor of Throwback Thursday we thought it would be a little fun to share some of our parents wedding pictures. So, we asked our parents to dig up some wedding photos! Aubrey and I each asked for a couple photos and a little description of our parents’ special days. My parent’s pictures are the two on top and Aubrey’s parent’s are the two on the bottom. My parents were married in 1974 in Riverside California at their local church. Aubrey’s parents were married in 1985 in Sacramento at the Church of Christ and had the reception at a local community center.

Both of our parents’ weddings were not big or fancy, neither one had a lot of decorations. After speaking to both our parents, we discovered not a lot of thought was put into wedding decor or themes. As for attire, my mom wore a long sleeve fitted silk dress with a long lace veil.  My dad wore a white tuxedo with black ruffles down the middle with white shoes. Between my moms straight long brown hair parted down the middle and my dad’s long side swept hair and his mustache, they were the epitome of true 70’s style. Fun fact: My grandma made ALL 5 of the bridesmaid’s dresses! Aubrey’s mom wore a 3/4 length sleeve dress with ruffles and a lace hat with attached veil. Her dad wore his formal Air Force service dress.

Weddings back then did not have the same attention to detail as they do now. There are so many fun and unique details couples are adding to their wedding to make it as personal as possible. Which of course, the Alluring team loves. Hope you enjoyed our TBT!

~ Mid Summer Night’s Dream ~

The Find Event Rentals, located in downtown Sacramento, hosted a Mid Summer Night’s Dream mixer featuring a few different tabelscapes. One tablescape by 2 Chic Events & Design, one by Kate Miller Events, and one by Alluring Events & Design. For our table we teamed up with La Tavola Linens, Classic Party Rentals, Sweetcakes by Rebecca, Bloomers Floral Design, Honey Paperie, and The Find Event Rentals (such an awesome team, I know!). Our color scheme featured different shades of green, ivory, and purple…we were going for a very whimsical feel. Check out the beautiful photo by XSight Photography and let us know what you think!

Future Firefighter…Happy 7th Birthday Jake!

We helped coordinate a very special birthday party today…Jacob’s 7th Birthday. His dad is a firefighter and arranged to have his party at the fire station. The boys got to use the hose, sit in the engine, and take a tour…they were in heaven!  Between the pizza, cupcakes, and fire trucks, I think Jake had a pretty perfect day.
